As any fan of the COPE album would know, BEST FISH TACOS IN ENSENADA is also the title to one of the songs on the album and it is rumored that much of the album creation was fueled by Adams many visits to the taco stand. Though it was an overcast and somewhat cold Sunday afternoon, a festive and dedicated group of partygoers comfortably filled up the restaurants tiny corner patio and interior to enjoy tasty fried fish Tacos and DJ’s sets from Adam and a few of his friends. As night fell, visual projections illuminated the party to provide a club like atmosphere. Though the dance floor was cement and wedged between the sidewalk and an auto repair shop next door, it did not stop the crowd from getting their groove on. The Grand Finale consisted of Adam crowd surfing the dancers which he said was a dream of his since he was six years old. Weather this was real or not, his audience did not let him down as he was gently passed around the crowd all while an edit of the Beastie Boys “Sabotage” was playing from the sound system. Make sure to check out the Cope remix album featuring mixes from Gui Boratto, Evil Nine, Prins Thomas and many more and make sure to stop by BEST FISH TACOS IN ENSENADA if you want fuel for your own creative process.
Subtractive Producer Kyle Schember worked with Engineer Luke Bechthold to record the new single. Her debut album will be out fall of 2009 and proves to be a force to be reckoned with in the country genre. Music director and album producer Alex Platt brought together a great session with the Subtractive crew and we’ll be posting a link soon so you can hear for yourself what we’re so excited about!

Surfwise was nominated for Graphic Design and Animation, and while “Waltz With Bashir” took the honor, we were proud be there to represent Lasse Jarvi & Emmett Feldman who did an amazing job. It was great to reconnect with some of our NYC filmmaker friends, and meet some new ones as well. If you’re in New York for the 2010 event, it’s definitely one not to be missed!

Below: Thom Powers, Pierre Petite, Laurie Anderson, Lou Reed, and AJ Schnack.

The One Club hosted an amazing dinner following the
“Art & Copy” world premiere. Following the dinner the next evening our good friend BT rocked us into the wee hours at Star Bar on Main Street. It was a great time to reconnect and celebrate. Even the “Locals” were dancing in the streets.
